About
Kayla is the liaison librarian to History, Ethnic Studies, Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies (WGSS), Philosophy, Special Education, and Marketing. Prior to becoming an academic librarian, she trained as a Roman archaeologist and had the opportunity to dig in both Italy and Cyprus. As a librarian, her professional interests include information literacy instruction, the historical and present role of libraries in knowledge production, and qualitative research support with a special emphasis on supporting students and researchers of humanities and material culture disciplines.
She is also the Engagement Librarian, so she works with her fellow librarians to develop educational programming around topics like information literacy and information cycles, artificial intelligence (Al), and the scholarly communications cycle (e.g. open educational resources (OERs), publishing, and copyright).
