Find Articles (A step-by-step guide)

View and download step-by-step

A database is a searchable electronic index of published articles. To locate credible articles, select one (or more) of the Krueger Library's databases that is most appropriate for your topic.

If you are off-campus or in the dorms, you will need to login with your WSU username and password.

  1. From the library homepage, select the WSU Databases tab in the research portal.
  2. Choose a subject area from the Select a Database by Subject drop-down menu. For example:
    • Looking for articles on peer pressure and drug addiction? Start with the Psychology databases.
    • Looking for articles on caring for prenatally drug-exposed infants? Start with the Nursing databases.
  3. Notice there are several databases for each subject. Read the descriptions to choose the best database.
  4. Not sure which subject your topic falls under? Start in a general database, such as Academic Search Premier, MasterFILE Premier, or CQ Researcher.
