Students

Distance Students

Distance students, including Rochester campus students, have the same access to Library resources as students at the Winona campus.

Print Materials

Print articles and book chapters are available via scanning services.

Circulating print books can also be mailed. Materials are mailed at no cost; however, students are responsible for return shipping. See Resource Sharing for more information.

Just need a chapter or a page of a print book? Scans can be requested from the book's record in library catalog / OneSearch. See our Scanning Services FAQs for more details.

Receiving and Picking up Items

Books and DVDs

Krueger Library provides postal mailing services for distance students.

Use OneSearch to place a hold on the item. When you receive the hold notification email, reply with your mailing address.

Krueger Library pays the shipping costs to receive the item. You are responsible for shipping costs to return the item to the library. You can also return the item in person at any MNPals library.

Articles/Chapter scans

There are two ways you can receive articles from Resource Sharing: an email with an attachment or an email containing a link and PIN with instructions to download your article.

  • You may receive an email with an attachment from interlibraryloan@winona.edu.
  • Minitex (medd@othello.minitex.umn.edu) or another library may email you a link with login information.

If you receive your article from Minitex, you have a limited time to download your article. It will be removed in 7 days or after 5 viewings. Please download and save it to your device before this time.

WSU-Rochester Students

WSU students in the Rochester area also have access to some services at Rochester Community and Technical College's (RCTC) Goddard Library.

At Goddard Library, WSU-R students can:

  • Use library computers and printers (Log on using the WSU network. You'll have access to your print quota, too).
  • Check out books
  • Use databases while on campus
  • Use study spaces in the library

At Goddard Library, WSU-R students are unable to:

  • Use resource sharing services through Goddard Library. Materials must be requested and sent to Krueger Library. However, we can mail requests once processed.
  • Access databases and e-books from off campus. Instead use Krueger Library databases
