Resource sharing, sometimes referred to as Interlibrary Loan (ILL), allows you to get books, book chapters, DVDs, and articles that aren't available in Krueger Library.
Physical items, like books and DVDs, can take a week or longer to arrive. Online articles or book chapter scans often arrive faster and are sent directly to your email.
Find and request items from libraries worldwide using WorldCat FirstSearch.
Ebooks are not available through Resource Sharing. Ebook requests are automatically converted to requests for physical books.
If you need a scan of a chapter, instead of the entire book, check the box “I only need a specific chapter or pages” at the bottom of the page. Add the chapter title and pages in the boxes provided. Each chapter must be on its own request.
When you find an article in a database, use the Find It button. If no full text is available at WSU, you can request the article through resource sharing.
You will receive a confirmation message.
If you have a title, author, or other citation information, use the Find It form to see if the article is available in the library or to request it.
If the steps outlined above do not work, as a last resort, use the Blank ILL form to submit requests. If the computer will not accept your request for any reason, email us with the information on the material that you are trying to obtain.
When your requested item arrives in the library, an automatic email is sent to your WSU email account. The item(s) can be picked up at the Front Desk.
If you would like the item mailed to you please respond to the email you receive with your mailing address. You are responsible for shipping costs to return the item to the library.
There are two ways you can receive articles from Resource Sharing: an email with an attachment or an email containing a link and PIN with instructions to download your article.
If you receive your article from Minitex, you have a limited time to download your article. It will be removed in 7 days or after 5 viewings. Please download and save it to your device before this time.
To track the status of your requests, log into My Account and select My Requests. This will not tell you the status of the item in its postal transit from our library to you, but it will tell you if we have received materials from other libraries, or if your request was rejected. If the computer will not display your requests, email email@example.com with the information on the item that you are trying to view.
To renew requested items:
Renewals are allowed at the discretion of the lending library. If the lending library grants the renewal, the status will change for that item to ILL. Renewed by Partner. Otherwise, the status will change to ILL. Renew request not accepted. You are responsible for returning resource sharing items by the due dates.
Wondering where your items are? Here are some statuses you may see when tracking your requests.
