Find and Request

When you find an article in a database, use the Find It button. If no full text is available at WSU, you can request the article through resource sharing.

  • In the How to Get it section, log in with your StarID and StarID password. (Courtesy card holders use barcode/last name.)
  • Select Resource Sharing.
  • Check request details for accuracy.
  • Select Send Request.
  • Select I agree with the terms on the following copyright page.

You will receive a confirmation message.

If you have a title, author, or other citation information, use the Find It form to see if the article is available in the library or to request it.

If the steps outlined above do not work, use the Blank ILL form to submit requests.

Find and request items from libraries worldwide using WorldCat FirstSearch.

  • Select Request via Interlibrary Loan
  • Sign in with StarID and password (or barcode/last name for courtesy card holders)
  • Select Resource Sharing
  • Be sure to select I agree with the terms.

Ebooks are not available through Resource Sharing. Ebook requests are automatically converted to requests for physical books.

If the steps outlined above do not work, use the Blank ILL form to submit requests.

If you need a scan of a chapter, instead of the entire book, check the box “I only need a specific chapter or pages” at the bottom of the page. Add the chapter title and pages in the boxes provided. Each chapter must be on its own request.

  • Select Send Request.
  • Select I agree with the terms. You will receive a confirmation message.

If the steps outlined above do not work, use the Blank ILL form to submit requests.

Receiving and Picking up Items

Books and DVDs

When your requested item arrives in the library, an automatic email is sent to your WSU email account. The item(s) can be picked up at the Front Desk.

If you would like the item mailed to you please respond to the email you receive with your mailing address. You are responsible for shipping costs to return the item to the library.

Articles/Chapter scans

There are two ways you can receive articles from Resource Sharing: an email with an attachment or an email containing a link and PIN with instructions to download your article.

  • You may receive an email with an attachment from interlibraryloan@winona.edu.
  • Minitex (medd@othello.minitex.umn.edu) or another library may email you a link with login information.

If you receive your article from Minitex, you have a limited time to download your article. It will be removed in 7 days or after 5 viewings. Please download and save it to your device before this time.
