Course Reserves

Krueger Library has two types of course reserves:

  • Physical reserves are items WSU instructors have set aside for students in their classes to check out on a short-term basis. Most physical reserve items are in-library use only and have a two-hour checkout period.
  • E-reserves are scanned documents available online.

Placing Items on Reserve

Bring the item(s) you wish to place on reserve, along with the course reserve form, to the library front desk. Fill out the form completely to avoid delays. Allow a minimum of two business days for processing.

Scotch tape is used for processing reserve items, including books. The library is not responsible for damage to instructor materials.

Guidelines for E-reserves

Krueger Library will put materials on e-reserves if the number of pages in the document is less than or equal to one full chapter or up to 10% of a book. These guidelines reflect current Fair Use and Copyright law.

Removing Items from Reserve

Faculty can request the removal of reserve items at any time during the semester. At the end of each semester, the front desk staff will remove all reserve materials from active reserves shelving. Library-owned materials will be returned to the regular collection unless:

  • The same course number will be taught the next semester by the same instructor, as verified through the WSU Class Schedule
  • The instructor has requested that the items stay on reserve

Please collect instructor-owned materials from the library at the end of the semester. If you do not, they will be returned to you using campus mail.
