First review the "Types of Creative Commons Licenses" slideshow.
Next review the work(s) you want to license and how you used them.
To select a Creative Commons (CC) License use the CC selector and ask the following questions:
- Is this a new original work?
- Do you want to share your work for use by others?
- Do you want attribution for the work?
- Do you want the work to be adapted or transformed by others?
- Do you want the work to be used for commercial purposes?
- Do you want others who transform your work to share it with a license identical to license you selected for the original work?
- Does this work use another creator's works or a derivative of another creator's work? Is your proposed license compatible with the original work's CC license?
- Are you using another creator's work, but not changing it? What is the planned use of the work to be licensed?
The answers to each of these questions will assist with your selection of a license. The Collections, Remixing, Adaptation, & Derivatives" slideshow (below) reviews the different types of uses of CC licenses. It provides helpful charts for use when selecting a license for your work. The charts provide guidance for when you use another CC licensed work(s).
