What's changing?

The Darrell Krueger Library migrated to a new system software to search for sources called Alma/Primo VE. At our library, it is still be called OneSearch. It allows you to search for print and digital content as a single search, rather than having to access different databases and systems. It also has an account feature that allows you to save lists of items, manage your renewals, and request items through interlibrary loan (ILL).

Why is this changing?

The new software incorporates many library work functions into one application, instead of spreading those functions across two or three applications that don’t inter-operate. Also, the old system was built to support print books and many collections have changed to include electronic resources. This system is used at all the libraries in Minnesota State.

New OneSearch

The new OneSearch is now live and ready to use! When you use the search box on the library's homepage, you'll see a new and improved catalog! You can use the limiters on the left-hand side to narrow your results. If you encounter any issues, please contact our Reference Desk or Report a Problem.
We appreciate your patience as we work through potential bugs and issues that may arise.

Known Issues:

  • Lag time -- there may be a significant lag time between clicking 'search' to receiving results. We are aware of this issue and working to find a solution. If you have any issues finding resources, please contact the library via chat or the 'report a problem' page (see left).
  • Broken links -- we are noticing some instances where a record in OneSearch shows we have the full-text of an article, but when clicking on the database a display error occurs. If you encounter this, please contact a member of library staff or use the Report a Problem so we can get you the information you need.
  • Full Text Access -- through some reports we're having an issue where OneSearch says we have access to an article when, in fact, we don't. We're noticing this miscommunication mostly from embargoed journals (where we have Full Text access except for the last 6-12 months). If you encounter any issues, please contact a member of library staff.
