The Digital Sound Collection is a collection of streamed music used primarily for music education at Winona State University. Here's how to find online music using the Krueger Library catalog:

1. From the library homepage, select the WSU Library Catalog link under the Research drop-down menu.


2. Select the Advanced search option, a link just to the right of the search box.


3. Select Digital Sound Online from the Collection menu.


4. Enter your search terms.
   • Either search All Fields This searches all fields, including title, author, description, and so on.
   
   
   • Or, change the All Fields menu to select a specific part of the catalog record to search, such as just the Title, Author (which is the composer), or Subject. Changing the field to just TITLE will communicate to the catalog to only search in the Title field of the catalog record.


5. Click on the title for more information, a description, and access to the online album.


6. Cite, email, text, or export the information using the links at the top.


7. For access to the liner notes, playlist, and music tracks, select the Online info. Please note that the Online Music Collection is only available on the WSU Campus or via VPN (WSU Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client)


8. If the music does not play after you click on a track, your browser may have pop-up windows blocked or the music player window might be behind your other windows.

Here's how to find recorded music when the WSU Library doesn't have it:

1. From the library homepage, select the WSU Databases link under the Find Articles & More heading.


2. Select the database, WorldCat.


3. Select Advanced Search.


4. In the Limit Type To: section, select Sound Recordings. This limiter will communicate to the database that you only want to search for "Sound Recordings" (i.e. Music).


5. Conduct your search either by keyword, subject, title, author, or ISBN.


6. Once you've found the correct recording, click on the hyperlinked title to enter the record.


7. Click the button to request the item from another library:


• Click More Options


• Click WSU Interlibrary Loan.


• Enter your barcode number (on the back of your Warrior ID) and your password (your last name).


• All of the necessary book information will be filled in automatically. Check for accuracy.


• Scroll to the bottom of the page, check the copyright box, and click Go.
