Getting Started with RefWorks

Accessing RefWorks: Click here to access RefWorks.

  • From the Library's homepage, click on RefWorks under the Quick Links drop-down.

Off-campus Access:

  • If you are off-campus when attempting to login to RefWorks, you may first be prompted to authenticate using your WSU Internet ID and password, then to log into your personal RefWorks account. If you're using Write-N-Cite from an off-campus location, you may need the WSU GroupCode to log into your RefWorks account, which is RWWinonaSU.

Creating an Account: New users must first create an individual account in order to use RefWorks:

  1. After accessing RefWorks, you will come to the "RefWorks User Login for Winona State University" page.
  2. Click on Sign up for a New Account
  3. Fill in all required fields
  4. Enter your email address in the E-mail Address field (does not need to be your WSU email)
  5. Click on Create Acount

NOTE: A confirmation email will be sent to you with your user login, password, and the Group Access Code for off-campus access.
