Here's how to find a book when the WSU Library doesn't have it:

  1. From the library homepage, select the Databases tab in the research portal.
  2. Select the database, WorldCat.
  3. Select Advanced Search.
  4. Type in your search terms and conduct your search:
    • If you are searching for a specific title or author, type the exact title or name (last name first). Then select the correct search field (author or title) from the drop-down menu to the right.
    • If you are searching for a topic, refine your search to Subject.
    • Limiting your search to a particular field, such as author, title, or subject,, communicates with the database where in the book record you'd like your search terms to be found.
  5. Once you've found a book that you'd like to use as a resource, click on the hyperlinked title to enter the record.
  6. Click the SFX FindIt Buttonbutton to request the item from another library:
    • Click More Options
    • Click WSU Interlibrary Loan.
    • Enter your barcode number (on the back of your Warrior ID) and your password (your last name).
    • All of the necessary book information will be filled in automatically. Check for accuracy.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page, check the copyright box, and click Go.
